Every year around November, my friend Matt S. and some of his friends have a beard growing contest. Each year I get excited to participate, but end up finding some excuse to not compete. This year I decided to throw caution to the wind and join the friendly competition.

For this year’s contest, instead of just growing a beard, there is one twist. We will be donating $1 a day to charity (we are still trying to decide on one) for each day that we do not shave. If you decide to bow out early there will be a $1-$5 penalty for each day left in the contest. The contest began today at midnight and lasts till December 31.

If anyone has any cool beard concepts/ideas please submit them. As Matt says “May the best beard win”.
